A one-day trip

The town of Lipik is located in western Slavonia on the slopes of the Psunj hill. Surrounded by a century-old park, natural springs of healing thermal water and a rich history, it is certainly a place worth visiting which will allow you a break from stressful days and hectic life.

We recommend you start your trip by visiting the parish church of St. Francis located in the centre of Lipik. Discover the miraculously preserved figure of Our Lady of Fatima and make sure to climb the church tower, which offers a beautiful view of the town.

After visiting the church of St. Francis walk through the century-old park which is a monument of the park architecture. It hides many historical sights such as Jelka Hill, Countess Jelka's bench, Antun’s spring, Marble and Stone Baths, the remains of the covered promenade, Kursalon, Wandelbahn, fountains and numerous garden decorations.

One of the symbols of the Town of Lipik is the State Stud Farm of Lipizzaner Horses. Visitors can, with expert guidance, go on a tour of the Lipizzaner stud farm, learn all about these animals and try to go horseback riding or enjoy an unforgettable carriage ride through the town.

After the stud farm, we recommend that you head to Brezine, where is the chapel of St. Andrew, one of the few preserved wooden churches in whole Slavonia that is definitely worth visiting. Stay briefly in the silence or prayer to St. Andrew, who is the patron saint of fishermen, artists, singers and women who want to become mothers.

Finish your visit to Lipik with a sightseeing of the beautiful baroque church of St. Catherine in Gaj from 1804. Along with a tour of the church, there is the possibility to celebrate Holy Mass and to confess. Finish your trip with a traditional dinner made by the local restaurant Vrata Slavonije.
