Each story has its beginning and its end, this time we return to the beginning of the end of two cities that were completely destroyed in the Homeland War. Learn the story of the courage of young people who stood in defense of their cities and of a bright future and renewal!
LIPIK - THE FIRST LIBERATED CITY IN THE HOMELAND WAR
Lipik, once a magnificent tourist center was completely unrecognizably destroyed in the Homeland War in 1991. At the very entrance to the city there is a stud farm of Lipizzaners who are today a living monument of the Homeland War. Panoramic tour of the Lipik Glas and Studenac factories, the city center, Villa Street, Lipik Veterans Square, the memorial of Varaždin Veterans, along which a Homeland War memorial park is being built, and we get to know the city's turbulent past. Take a tour of the History Time Machine - the lookout of the church of St. Francis of Assisi and a park that hides historical sights. For a short break we will use our free time for coffee and lunch in one of the local restaurants.
PAKRAC - THE DAY IT ALL BEGUN
We continue our journey to the town of Pakrac with a panoramic tour of the city center and along the way a tourist guide to the place where the history as we know it today began to be written. Sightseeing of the city center - Janković estate, memorial to Croatian veterans on Ban Jelačić Square, Janković estate, Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We head to the Museum of Military and War History Pakrac. In the museum you can see various exhibits related to Croatian, and partly to world war and war history, and it is an indispensable place for anyone interested in this topic. Return.
