HISTORY THROUGH TIME - GUIDED TOUR
Step into the history time machine and learn all about the courage of the young people who stood in defense of their city of Phoenix, which is making great strides back on the map of continental tourism!
In the center of town is the church of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of Lipik, and in the immediate vicinity of the church the parish court and the monastery of the Sisters of Mercy of St. Cross. Within the church of St. Francis of Assisi we visit a special landmark, a church tower with 9 floors and a staircase leading to the bell tower.
Multimedia equipment is installed on seven floors, showing the historical development of the City of Lipik through digitized old postcards that represent chapters of history with a focus on the destruction during the Homeland War and its restoration, which culminates in the final 2 floors - a viewpoint with a beautiful view of Lipik from all 4 sides of the world. Within the church there is a tomb of the Rev. Tomo Sruk, who recorded chronologically determined events during the Homeland War in Lipik and who is remembered by many generations. Next to the church there are 14 Stations of the Cross cast in copper. The church is a peaceful refuge for both citizens and visitors of Lipik.
